Homestay in West Croydon

Room available from April26th
We are a family of 3 adults: Connie, Paull and Jim . We have an adult daughter(Maddie) who lives interstate, who comes home a couple of times a year. We have an indoor/outdoor dog, and a STRICTLY inside cat, who believe they own the house. (They are NOT EVER allowed in the bedrooms, despite their attempts to convince you otherwise).

We have hosted high school, university and adult learners in the past, from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and China. We have also travelled extensively, so will relish the opportunity to learn about your country, whilst you learn about ours.

We live in a 100year old, large 2 story home. Your large ( x4m) furnished bedroom would be upstairs. The upstairs area has 2 bedrooms (our son is in one bedroom) and a powder room, with bidet , and which also has storage for your toiletries. Your room includes a king single bed, a desk, wardrobe, mini bar fridge, and airconditioning. Linen is provided.

Downstairs is a huge communal kitchen/family room, 2 bathrooms, and laundry. You would have priority use of 1 large bathroom, complete with a deep claw foot soaking tub. (This bathroom is used by Connie occasionally for a bath, or if we have guests.) We are VERY water conscious (as South Australia is in drought ), so do have strict rules regarding showering times (10minutes) and washing machine use. (max 2x per week) . Our outdoor area is currently under redevelopment.

Meals can be provided for an additional cost, (up to $20 per day) or you can cook your own, with fridge/pantry space provided. (You are expected to clean up after yourself). Unlimited internet/netflix, utilities included.

West Croydon is located 8 kilometres to the Adelaide CBD. The train station is a 4 minute walk, and then 8 minutes travel time into North Terrace. Alternatively, we are situated 800m walk between 2 major transit routes, with buses every 15 minutes. Approx travel times to Regency Park TAFE :10 min bicycle; UniSA west : 14min Adelaide university: 25min Mawson Lakes :55min Flinders Uni 1h 20min (public transport)
